It's Been A Long Time

It has been a very long time since I have felt the call to be involved in birth work and to continue on my path to becoming a midwife. In the last few months, that call has been almost impossible to ignore. Serving women on their journey to motherhood is my passion and I need to start giving it the attention that it deserves.

I've recently decided to get back into the Doula world, as well as teach myself how to encapsulate placentas as another service to offer my clients. I would love to learn bellycasting too, but that will most likely have to wait until I am pregnant. I want to get myself involved in my local community, as far as birth goes. I also have a plan in the works for restarting my midwifery schooling through AAMI. Unfortunately, that may have to wait until I have a month long break from "regular" college.

Today I had a lovely phone conversation about a new project happening in Kitsap County and was just in awe of all that is being planned. I have wanted to move out to that area since I attended my basic MSL in July of 2010. I have just never been able to convince Aaron and partly myself that the move is not something to be afraid of. It will be a huge change from here in Kirkland that's for sure. I think it will be more than worth it, as long as we do it right.

I feel this pull to start living more in alignment with my views and part of doing that is getting back into the swing of things regarding birth work and midwifery school. I cannot continue to let my dreams sit on the back burner. I need to go after them and I plan on doing that anyway that I can.

I am hopeful that everything is going to continue on the path that it should and I am learning to trust the process.
